Cybersecurity talents are highly sought-after, especially for those professionals with the right credentials. The innovation master’s degree program at the University of North America (UoNA) arms its graduates with those high-demand acronyms that get their resumes noticed and lead to the interview.
Partnering with Intellectual Point (IP), a leader in Information Technology certification training and testing company, UoNA incorporates certification training into their Master of Science in Cyber Security (MSCYS) program. When a student takes advantage of preparing for and taking certification exams while pursuing their degree, the student will have a master’s degree and three in-demand certifications— CompTIA Cloud+, Security+ and CEH, in less than two years.
Currently, the MSCYS program includes three cybersecurity courses that feature integrated IT certification training and examination preparation. Combining college credits and exam preparation maximizes the value of a student’s time and investment in the program tuition.
CYBR 501 Cloud and Security Control is an example of one of the courses that has a certification component. This UoNA course features an examination of the general principles and applications of security controls in systems, process and access controls, and security planning management based on web communications, and cloud and mobile computing technologies. Concurrently, CompTIA Cloud+ training is an integral part of CYBR 501, including a review all of the learning objectives and competencies critical to passing the certification exam. On successful completion of CYBR 501, students will be well prepared to take the CompTIA Cloud+ Certification exam. Access to RapidTestPrep.com, which provides additional CompTIA Cloud+ exam preparation, is also included with this course.
CYBR 501 is part of the required curriculum for the UoNA MSCYS program and can also be taken as an elective for the following other UoNA Master of Science programs:
• System & Application Engineering
• Management & Data Analytics
• Information Technology
• Computer Science
