Marty Martin, Chairman and CEO of the University of North America, was the winner of two world-renowned technology product development and management awards.
Marty Martin, as a founder and CEO of PocketREC Inc., was awarded the Radio World magazine’s 2003 Cool Stuff award and the Radio Magazine Pick Hit Award at the 2003 National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) Conference. Marty led the development team and was in charge of the product design of this award winning software. PocketREC was the first comprehensive journalist application in the world that was developed for Personal Digital Assistants (PDA) devices from HP.
The NAB Conference is the world’s largest annual gathering of broadcast services and product vendors. It showcases more than 2,800 companies representing over 100,000 products and servics and is attended by TV, Radio and new media professionals across the globe.
The PocketREC was designed to record professional quality audio, edit on the same PDA, and make wireless transfers of the audio file, with attached images and story scripts directly to broadcasting facilities.
Shortly after this award, Marty closed a global distribution agreement for the PocketREC with Harris Broadcasting company, one of the world’s largest broadcasting products and services corporations.
